Christmas wreaths are an amazing thing. They come in many different sizes, colors and designs. During the holiday season it is fascinating to see all the different ways that a wreath can be designed: it is like they are telling a story. 

In fact, wreaths are more than just decorations. Evergreens are commonly used in the  construction of the wreaths due to their heartiness throughout harsh winters and that  they denote strength as well as immortality. Christians have used the evergreen wreath to symbolize the continuance of life  during the cold winter months and the wreath  has been the traditional base for the advent  candles which guides us on the journey to celebrate Christ’s birth. 

It is the fact that wreaths guide us on a journey: a shared story, that inspired the idea that we could create Christmas wreaths that are unique and share a story.

These wreaths were made by the congregation at First Christian Church during the 2021 holiday season.
